The late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru died due to excessive bleeding. An autopsy examination conducted on his body on Wednesday, November 8 says as much. The postmortem was carried out by government pathologist Johansen Oduor in the presence of family members at Lee Funeral Home. Gakuru passed on following a tragic road accident on Tuesday, November 7, in Kabati on the Thika-Kenol Highway in Murang'a county as he was headed to the city for a radio interview.

Earlier, he had appeared on TV in Nakuru during another tragic helicopter crash where he said he was a 'State pilot' but changed the narrative at the governor's accident scene saying he was a local trader who imports goods.
