Wiper Democratic Movement has issued a statement concerning the illegal swearing in of NASA leader, Raila Odinga, as the President of Kenya.
Last week, Raila said he will be sworn as President of Kenya on December 12th because he won the annulled August 8th elections.
But according to Wiper Deputy Leader, Farah Maalim, the party will not participate in the illegal swearing in.
Maalim who was
appearing on an interview on Monday said that though he supports electoral reforms and he will “hesitate to back the idea of swearing-in another President”.
“I am somebody with a legal background and who would like to uphold the law.”
“I have not been part of the process of the agreement for the swearing-in,” Maalim said
“The same legal framework NASA applauded for nullifying the August 8th election has, for valid reasons, upheld the validity of the October 26 repeat election and thus all players need to respect it.”
“The law is an ass,” Maalim added.
