Protesters Burn Police Station(PHOTOS)

Protesters burnt a section of Kondele Police Station on Monday moments after the Supreme Court upheld President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory in the October 26 election.

Police officers were forced to disperse the marauding crowd as they battled the flames.

There was unrest in the lakeside city for the better part of the day as protesters expressed their displeasure at Chief Justice David Maraga's ruling.A car was also set ablaze in the same area.

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga came out to speak after Maraga's ruling.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Monday, Mr Odinga stated that he still considered the government to be illegitimate and the ruling had not changed his position.

The NASA leader further stated that he sympathised with the Judges claiming they had made the decision under duress.

He added that the court failed to raise a quorum over serious security concerns following the shooting of the Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu's bodyguard before the October 26 election.

"We in NASA had repeatedly declared before this Supreme Court ruling today that we consider this government to be illegitimate and do not recognise it," Odinga stated.

This position has not been changed by the court ruling, which did not come as a surprise.
"It was a decision taken under duress. We do not condemn the court, we sympathise with it," he added.
