President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration has indicated at least 20 presidents and heads of states have confirmed they will attend his swearing in ceremony. On Thursday, November 23, government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe said many more dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony that will go down on Tuesday, November 28, at the Kasarani stadium

“On Tuesday next week we expect a number of high profile guests, preparations are still underway even as we prepare the final list of dignitaries who will grace the event,” he said.

Kiraithe further asked Kenyans to come out in large numbers to witness the swearing in of Uhuru for his second term in office. The government has already declated Tuesday, November 28, a public holiday. However, as reported by TUKO.co.ke, the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) has threatened to hold a parallel swearing in ceremony for Raila Odinga.

NASA has refused to recognise or acknowledge Uhuru's win in the Thursday, October 26 repeat election that the opposition boycotted. The Supreme Court, however, upheld Uhuru's win after annulling his first in the August 8 election.
