Eye-witness recounts what transpired moments before the accident that killed Nyeri Governor

An eye-witness who saw everything that happened before and after the accident that claimed the life of Nyeri County governor Wahome Gakuru has come out to recount all the events that led to Tuesday,November 7,morning incident.

As reported earlier Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru lost his life after he was involved in a gory road accident in Kabati along the Thika - Kenol Highway in Murang'a county. According to reports from the police,vehicle Gakuru was travelling in got a tyre burst while being driven in heavy rains and veered off the road, hitting a rail guard.

However,counteracting early reports on the cause of the accident,an eye-witness who saw everything unfold has refuted claims that the governor's car veered off the road after a tyre burst. According to the eye-witness who was driving behind the governor 's car at the time of the gory incident,the governor's driver swerved from the road to avoid hitting a motorbike that was carrying meat after it stopped abruptly. The witness went ahead to reveal how the motorcycle driver was forced to stop abruptly because of a lorry in front of it that was being driven dangerously.

It is at this juncture that the governor's driver tried to avoid hitting the motorcycle and swerved off the road,ramming into the guard rail. ''The accident happened at 8 minutes to 7 am and was caused by a Motorbike ferrying meat .There was a lorry in front of the bike which was driving dangerously .The governor's drive was trying to avoid hitting the motorbike but instead, he rammed into the guard rail.''the eye-witness told members of the fourth estate who arrived at the scene of the accident.
